El turismo en París se recupera a un año de los atentados

Después de un año 2016 calamitoso a raíz de una serie de atentados yihadistas, el turismo en París batió récords en el primer semestre del 2017, aunque los profesionales se muestran prudentes en un contexto de seguridad inestable.





En los seis primeros meses del año, los hoteles de la región parisina recibieron a 16,4 millones de turistas (+10,2% en relación al año pasado), un récord en la última década, según el balance semestral del Comité regional de turismo (CRT) del área de París y suburbios, publicado el martes.

Además de los viajes postergados en 2016 por algunos turistas recelosos, la reactivación del turismo en la Ciudad Luz se explica por un gran plan de comunicación de 8 millones de euros lanzado por las autoridades francesas para traer de vuelta a los visitantes.

El aumento es importante tanto entre la clientela internacional (+14,9%) como francesa (+6,4%).

Los turistas asiáticos, que fueron los que más dieron la espalda a la romántica capital europea, regresan en masa, sobre todo los japoneses (+40,5%) y los chinos (+29,5%).

Es también el caso entre los turistas estadounidenses, la nacionalidad más representada entre los turistas en París, que registran un salto de 20,5%.

La única caída que se nota es entre los turistas ingleses (-1,7%), que según el CRT podría deberse a una incertidumbre en ese país por el Brexit.

También se ha visto un aumento de frecuentación en los monumentos y museos parisinos, sobre todo en el Arco del Triunfo (+36,3%), el Palacio de Versalles (+241,1%) y la Fundación Louis Vuitton (+174,1%).

En cifras globales, desde enero, “el consumo turístico asciende a 10.100 millones de euros, una ganancia de 1.100 euros para los profesionales del turismo en la región parisina”, apunta el CRT.

Pese a esto, los profesionales del sector se muestran prudentes, sobre todo tras los atentados de Cataluña de la semana pasada, en los que murieron 15 personas.

“No debemos dejarnos llevar por la euforia”, señaló Frédéric Valletoux, presidente del CRT, en una conferencia de prensa.

Además, la región busca mejorar la duración de la estadía de los turistas (actualmente de 3 noches en promedio) y su canasta media de gastos (120 euros por día).

El ministro de Relaciones Exteriores Jean-Yves Le Drian, también a cargo del Turismo, estimó hace poco que Francia podría acoger este año alrededor de 90 millones de visitantes más que en 2015, un año en el que se habían registrado cifras históricas.
